Chart notes
MOUNT DOOM showed the way through the backstretch, turned back a threat from TIGERITO and held under a late drive. GUNFIGHTER unhurried early, saved ground inside, angled five wide in the final turn, and rallied steadily, missing out. ABELIEFINTHISLIVIN was four wide in the opening turn, roused in the final turn, and closed gamely. TIGERITO sat in striking range, loomed boldly but was unable to reach MOUNT DOOM, and was run down late stretch. APPRECIATE TODAY chased inside, and lacked a kick when called upon. CRUSHER ROYALE offered little. AWESOME CRUSADER sat midpack while three wide, and tired early. HYPERFOCUS hit gate leaving then veered in, was pulled up, did not finish, and walked off. STEWARDS INQUIRY- The Board of Stewards conducted an inquiry involving HYPERFOCUS. Following a review of the start, HYPERFOCUS was deemed to have received a fair start and no change was made.
