ALWAYS FORWARD raced close up early while keen to challenge on the backstretch run then moved up and split horses to contend for the lead nearing the 1/2 pole and made a bid through the second turn but faltered in the stretch. CLASSIC BALLAD moved up early and chased the pace while four wide then waited behind the trio on the lead during the backstretch run before being urged to challenge on the second turn and made a brief bid but flattened out in the stretch. SKIP THRU DA FIRE was allowed to settle early while saving ground before being asked to move closer nearing the 1/2 pole but made no rally in the stretch.
