Chart notes

WRIT IN STONE stalked three wide entering the frontside, gained the lead entering the lane, and held safety under a late threat. TRAPEZE stalked the early pacesetters, drove four to five wide in the final turn, and closed well but was no match for the winner. BODEMONSTER trailed the field early, bid six wide in the last turn, and passed a tiring rival late. SOMTHING ELUSIVE saved ground along the rail, rallied four wide at the head of the lane and was bested for show. A MAN'S MAN set the pace from off the rail, took pressure in the backstretch, was unable to sustain the bid that was needed and gave way in the mid-stretch.
