Chart notes
RHETORICAL set a soft pace around the first turn and down the backstretch, got collared by an outer bidder turning for home, repelled that challenge and spurted clear entering the final furlong then held sway with good energy. LAKE FOREST (GB) broke a step slow, laid off of the pace along the inside, shifted two wide into the lane, pursued between rivals into the final furlong, got bumped and put to tight quarters by an outer counterpart into the final sixteenth, ran on to bid for place among foes late and prevailed. TITLE ROLE (GB) tracked along the inside, chased in upper stretch, ran on while bumping with an outer counterpart in the final furlong, sustained a late bid for place but got outfinished. BRILLIANT BERTI tracked from the three path, pursued within striking range around the far turn, chased the top pair in upper stretch, hung on his left lead through midstretch, leaned in and bumped a foe while changing over at the sixteenth pole, kept on to bid for minor placing among foes in the closing stages but needed more. ZULU KINGDOM (IRE) stalked from the two path, pressed well-traveling leader around the far turn, bid turning for home, vied in upper stretch but was repelled at the furlong grounds, gave way and yielded place to an inner trio late. PASS THE HAT laid off of the pace in the three path, shifted to the four to five path in upper stretch and failed to menace. PLENSA raced at the rear two wide, then in the four path around the far turn before fanning to the six path in upper stretch and made little impact.
