Chart notes
PARADISE CITY crossed over to bother OUR MOONLIGHT early, moved up to a forward position on the inside, was closest in pursuit of THERMAL on the turn, cut the corner into the lane, challenged THERMAL from the fence in upper stretch, took a bump from that rival while putting a head in front midstretch, edged clear from that rival in the final fifty yards, then came under threat from OUR MOONLIGHT late and was able to hold. OUR MOONLIGHT took up when PARADISE CITY cut in front early, chased from off the pace after, took the turn three wide, rallied through the lane, reeled in PARADISE CITY late but ran out of ground. THERMAL sprinted clear from inside, led along the rail then two wide into the stretch, roused when feeling PARADISE CITY bearing down in upper stretch, drifted in and bumped that rival midstretch and lost command in the process, then flattened to third in deep stretch. ROSIE JEEKS trailed outside rivals in the early going, went five wide into the turn, had one beat while in the three path turning for home and passed a tired rival in the lane. NO BAD BEATS stalked the leader from off the rail then outside a rival, lost ground in the two path through the turn and tired in the stretch. TOASTER settled outside a rival, raced between foes early on the turn in the four path, angled down to the rail past the five-sixteenths pole and had little left for the drive. THE JOCKEY OF OUR MOONLIGHT LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST PARADISE CITY FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE EARLY IN THE RACE. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED IN A MAJORITY DECISION TO DISQUALIFY PARADISE CITY FROM FIRST TO SECOND FOR CROSSING OVER AND CAUSING OUR MOONLIGHT TO CHECK, COSTING THAT RIVAL A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
