GATE TO WIRE chased five then four wide coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, angled seven wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying in tandem with the runner up to issue a challenge for command inside the final eighth, seized the front just inside the sixteenth marker, dug in and won the bob on the line. SUREMEANTTOOBE chased along the inside coming under urging three furlongs out, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying through the final furlong coming between foes a sixteenth out, fought on head to head to the finish and lost the nod on the wire in a good effort. CAPTAIN COOK coaxed from the gate, raced three then two wide in closest aim of the leader, got roused spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in under a drive taking command a furlong out, dug in under threat from a pair of rivals and was caught just inside the sixteenth pole by his barn mate, then ran on to preserve the show honors clear of the rest. VETTRIANO coaxed from the start, showed the way in hand three then two wide down the backstretch, tucked inside through the turn and came under coaxing near the quarter pole, took the inside route into upper stretch under threat to the outside, dug in clinging to command until collared a furlong out, then weakened in the late stages.
