Chart notes
MILITARY ROAD was fractious in the starting gate, tracked along the inside, bided time within striking range around the far turn, came under urging in pursuit into upper stretch yet ran on to surge between the leaders in the final sixteenth and drove past late. GLOBAL SENSATION stalked two wide, pressed into the far turn before bidding with five sixteenths to go, sparred while floating to the three path into upper stretch, sustained the battle in the final furlong but got outkicked by an inner bidder late. FOUNTAIN RUN set the pace while tucking the inside around the first turn, dictated terms down the backstretch, met an outer challenger around the far turn, dug in and battled with that one while clinging to an advantage through midstretch but yielded in the final sixteenth. UNLOAD raced at the rear two wide, took closer order in the three path with a half mile to go, tracked within striking range two wide around the far turn, shifted out to the four path to take aim outside of the embattled leaders in upper stretch but lacked the needed punch. UP TO NO GOOD lacked speed along the inside, shifted out to the four path entering the lane and failed to menace. CALYCANTHUS pursued from midpack in the two path, gave way turning for home, got floated to the five path entering the lane and lacked a re-rally. ENLIGHTEN raced off of the pace in the four to five path around the first turn then tired. FAST SOLUTION chased five to four wide into the backstretch, went wrong with five furlongs to go, was pulled up shortly after and transported off of the track in an equine ambulance.
