Chart notes
MISS DONNA controlled the pace on the inside, came under a ride on the far turn, met the bid from CHANNEL PLACE in the stretch, resisted into the final sixteenth, was desperate for the wire and managed to hold on. CHANNEL PLACE stalked along the rail, came under a ride on the far turn, took aim in the two path turning for home, drew alongside MISS DONNA, gained inch by inch in deep stretch and just missed. SPECIALTY settled outside a pair of rivals, traveled in the two path into the far turn, had to alter out a bit a bit at the quarter pole, tipped three wide into the lane, lacked the needed late punch but was able to secure third. HEAVENLY BELLE trailed two wide in the early going, angled four wide around the far turn, kept on to round out the superfecta but never threatened for the major awards. CAT THE CONFIDANTE (IRE) settled inside, got put in tight and checked nearing the three-eighths pole, found traffic at the quarter pole and had to take up again, angled out into the clear and kept trying down the lane. COYOTE CAFE sat off the pace between rivals, rounded the far turn two then three wide and weakened in the drive. SHINING RIVER (GB) forwardly placed four deep on the clubhouse turn, traveled three deep in the middle stages, chased three then two wide on the far turn and also weakened. MUSICAL SONG pulled three deep early, stalked between runners on the backstretch, moved inside for the far turn, found some traffic in the stretch but failed to threaten. FROG raced up close in the two path, got crowded by a rival tipping out at the five-sixteenths pole and had to take up, angled to the inside shortly after and faded in the lane.
