Chart notes
VON ERICH pressed the pace at the start, eased back, made a bid after turning for home, rallied five wide, drove clear and finished well. MATINEE IDOL lacked early speed, made a steady gain, came around the second turn on the outside, made a wide gain, proved no match for the winner, but got up for second. LIEUTENANT CHARM raced within striking distance, racing outside around the first turn, took command, drove clear at the head of the home stretch, couldn't match strides with the winner and was caught late for second. VINEAUX void of early speed, raced outside around the second turn and made a wide late gain. SYNTAGMA raced near the middle of the field, put forth an even effort and lacked a rally. FILM AT ELEVEN raced within contention, came around the final turn wide and weakened. FRIENDLY HINT lacked early speed and was never a factor. CHIEF BROWN showed early speed and was finished early. RIPPLE'S ROCKET sprinted to the front, drove clear and dropped back. VAMOS YA always raced near the back and showed little.
