Chart notes

MATT AT FIVE tracked two wide, angled out into the lane, stormed to the front four deep in upper stretch, cleared past the eighth pole and held well over the runner-up. PRIVATE GEM settled inside, tipped out into the lane, angled out further in upper stretch, finished gamely outside the winner but had to settle for second best. DECAPO coaxed from the gate then had to take up when crowded early, tracked from inside up the backstretch and around the turn, came off the rail a bit and ran up behind BRIGHT YE BUNGLE (IRE) in upper stretch, shifted back to the inside and finished willingly to edge VALIAN SON for third. VALIANT SON broke a bit slow, trailed outside a rival into the turn, exited the bend in the three path and finished evenly through the lane. BRIGHT EYE BUNGLE (IRE) stalked along the rail, cut the corner into the lane, put in a rail bid in upper stretch but flattened in the late stages. LEGAL HEIR pressed from outside, fought in the three path turning for home, led momentarily in upper stretch but was quickly overtaken by the winner and weakened in the furlong grounds. GRUBAUER showed the way with LEGAL HEIR applying pressure to the outside, maintained command through the turn, dueled in the two path turning for home, surrendered the lead in upper stretch and folded.
