Chart notes
TAN TOAST seized command from the get-go, had company outside at the five eighths pole, spurted away again when let out a notch at the half, rambled on loose up top setting an even tempo through the turn, opened up when switching leads in mid-stretch and cruised on home in the final sixteenth for the frontrunning win. CLOSING APPEAL had a nice set up sitting behind the engaged foursome at the five furlong marker, inched up on the rail at the half, was coaxed along two wide on the bend pressing the issue between foes at the quarter pole but was no match for the winner while three wide with a furlong remaining and finished up well enough to be a clear second best in the end. OLIVIA'S MELODY sat all alone having only a couple of runners beaten down the back straight, started to make a smart rally on the fence at the five sixteenths pole, hugged the rail in the thick of things at the top of the lane but faded inside in the final furlong just lasting at the finish line for the show money. MALIBU BETTY was pinched between horses to be on the inside of another co-trailing down the backside, closed the gap two wide on the turn, remained two wide in upper stretch having a chance for a piece of the prize and showed late energy holding for a minor placing in a tight finish at the wire. LADY RAINICORN shared the rear on the outside, began to reach for more ground rallying two wide between horses midway along the bend, moved out to the six path turning for home and ran on gradually outside down the stretch but was just nosed out by the inside for a minor role. BUTTERFLY BILLIE sat isolated in midfield, narrowed the margin two wide between horses on the turn coming with a run at the quarter pole, angled out to the four path in with a chance for a small share straightening out for the drive but stalled with its rally at the furlong marker. RELOAD BABA prompted the pace four deep on the outside, continued to range up four wide through the turn making a brief bid at the quarter pole, had little left to offer by the upper stretch in the five path and folded by the furlong marker. GREENWICH PIKE broke out at the start, had the two path in the early scramble between early on, tried to hold position two wide chasing the frontrunner at the three furlong marker, dropped back abruptly three wide by midturn, swung out widest in the seven path for the stretch run but had little left by then. BLING D'MONEY HOME broke in at the start, had the three path in mix up top in the beginning, tracked the leader at the half, came under a drive three wide on the turn but was retreating at the three eighths pole, could see the field with a quarter mile from home and played no factor in the drive to the wire.
