Chart notes
CODY PASS forced the pace outside, led into the stretch and held on gamely in a long drive. DRUM ROLL PLEASE rated inside the dueling leaders, was urged on the final turn then drifted out late gaining the runner-up spot. DONNELLY'S HOLLOW stalked the pace four then three wide, bid in mid-stretch but was outfinished. OUR NOTION led under pressure inside to the stretch, resisted then weakened. PARTY WITH SMARTY lacked speed inside, and was never in contention. ALCHEMISM lagged far behind then advanced mildly wide. TIME TESTED flashed speed for half mile and gave way readily. The stewards posted an inquiry into the stretch run and the third finisher claimed foul against the second finisher for late interference but the result was allowed to stand.
