Chart notes
MR. COLOSSAL unhurried early to race at the back of the field, worked his way through traffic with a steady gain on far turn to be prominent turning for home, split rivals four wide at the top of the lane and pulled away in the final furlong. FRENCHMAN JAMES prompted the pace through the final bend, rallied to take a brief lead three wide in mid-stretch, could not match the winner late and ran-on as second best. ARTICLE reserved well off the pace in hand at the rear of the field, rallied on the far turn having to circle most of the field, was fanned nine wide at the top of the lane and finished with good interest. MR. IMPATIENT raced mid-pack to midway on the final turn, rallied to loom in upper stretch and finished evenly through the stretch. BAYTOWN ANUBIS raced in the back half of the field off the pace to the far turn, rallied to prominence on the bend and failed to sustain the rally down the lane. RACE FOR COVER set a fast pace to be on a clear lead through the first turn, widened the advantage down the backside, had the lead shrink through the turn and tired through the stretch. R ELLIOT raced up from nearly the rear of the field to track the pace on the backstretch, improved on the turn, was put to a drive nearing the quarter pole and flattened out in upper stretch. T' RAY showed brief speed to be well placed for a hlaf mile and came up empty on the turn. BENGAL CAT stalked the leaders on the first turn, chased down the backside and was through early fading to the rear of the field.
