Chart notes
METATRON settled off the pace two wide, began asking at the five sixteenths and ranged up into a five wide move turning for home, sustained a rally to put a head in front at the sixteenth and fought hard to keep that runner from making a late comeback. SAMMY C NOTE gave chase in the early stages, moved up between runners three wide at the eleven sixteenths to contest the pace briefly, brushed with SALT SPARTAN and backed off behind the leaders for the far turn, launched a three wide bid to take charge at the quarter brushing with that same rival in the process, was caught by outer runner at the sixteenth, started to come again late but not in time. SALT SPARTAN hit the gate and bumped inner rival at the start, tracked the pace three wide in the early stages, brushed with SAMMY C NOTE while moving up to prompt the pace four wide at the eleven sixteenths, held that position until being brushed out by that same foe at the quarter before flattening out in the final furlong. TAKE A STANCE broke a bit outward and well enough to earn a forward position, continued to press the pace from the two path up the backstretch and through the far turn, took charge briefly at the five sixteenths before flattening out in the stretch. BLAME IT ON K J settled off the pace along the inside, began urging at the three eighths, took to the outside of the stretch to make some final improvements. BEAU CHEVAL raced in the middle of the pack along the inside, came under a ride at the five sixteenths but lacked a response. FOTO got pinched back at the start, raced off the pace along the inside, advanced through the far turn but had no more for the stretch. SOLO EMPIRE set a pressured pace along the inside, was asked at the five sixteenths but could not keep the lead, retreated down the lane. OUTTAWATERBURY trailed throughout, no factor.
