Chart notes
HARD TO CAPTURE rated kindly paired up with an inside foe in the second flight down the backside, crept closer being nudged on midway along the bend, quickly moved in four wide with the contesting duo getting tired in upper stretch, seized control by the three sixteenths marker, kept holding on though drifting out under left handed encouragement with a sixteenth remaining and held on by a dwindling margin for the win at the wire. VERDEJO settled into stride close to the back with runners on either side while in the three path, narrowed the margin while going two wide through the turn, shifted out three wide being roused gathering speed at the three-eighths marker, angled to the six path between rivals at the top of the stretch closing in steadily by the furlong pole but did not have enough with one final late push outside to get to the winner at the wire. GIRLS WEEKEND was void of early foot lagging at the rear in the early stages, started to make a rail run picking up outside rivals at the half, edged up two wide around the turn, shifted out to the five path looking for a seam turning for home, made a brief bid between rivals at the furlong pole but stalled in the late going saving for the show award. EMPTY GESTURE had the inside position with another tracking the embattled duo down the backside, made little movement through the turn, had the two path in with a chance for a piece of the prize straightening out for home and finished up one paced down the lane to settle on the fringes in the end. SUPER SICILY was hard sent on the outside attacking from the get-go, continued to be driven on two wide outside the frontrunner forcing the pace in the turn running, moved to the three path at the quarter pole giving away arguing up top between runners by the three sixteenths marker and wilted at the furlong marker due to her early efforts. MIRAMICHI travelled four deep in the outside near the rear, was relegated to last outside going three wide at the half, moved out widest in the seven path seeing the pack at the head of the lengthy stretch and could only manage to pass the weary early leader in the final furlong. WHISKEY N ICE was tapped on the right shoulder being hustled along on the fence wanting the front end down the backside, had a slim advantage inside trying to be nursed along slowing the pace slightly but was constantly pressured by the outside runner throughout the turn, disposed of the early speed rival winning that battle spurting away for a fleeting moment on the fence in upper stretch, surrendered the lead to the winner by the three sixteenths pole and folded on the rail running out of steam in the final eighth of a mile.
