Chart notes
IDEOLOGIST had the rail position sitting in mid-division, dropped back a touch at the half mile marker, had a sharp turn of foot when called upon for more by the rider circling foes three wide at the quarter pole, loomed boldly outside in the four path at the top of the stretch and rushed on past to take the win from a game frontrunner inside with a sixteenth still left to run. CATCH THE ACE broke inwards on the start, pulled the rider to the front end with his ears pricked going into the first of two turns, moved well loose up top setting an even pace along the backside, continued to dictate the pace uncontested going comfortably in hand throughout the far turn, shaved the corner well in command in upper stretch but could not match strides with the late charging winner outside in the final sixteenth of a mile surrendering the lead while still coming on home strongly enough besting the others at the finish line for the secondary prize. CRYSTAL PEARL was bumped by the outside foe at the start, shared the rear running in tandem with an inside rival for the first half of this two turn route race, hugged the rail coming with a rally inside at the furlong pole, shifted two out two wide with a sixteenth remaining and continued to close in getting up for the show money outside at the finish line. ZEPHYROS settled in mid-pack on the outside in the early stages, improved by the half keeping a close eye on the front two runners, made a brief move three wide making a run between horses turning for home but could not find more late and faded in the final furlong. PERFECTWORKS contently tracked the frontrunner on the outside early on, chased down the backside making little headway on the pacesetter, was roused for more two wide midway through the final turn but the leader was getting away further, remained in the two path giving way between runners getting checked in the process at the furlong marker and could not recover to play a role in the late running. PIPERS REIGN co-trailed on the inside throughout, was asked for more with horses quickening at the quarter pole offering little response, came up empty for the drive in upper stretch and galloped on home never factoring in the late stages.
