Chart notes
BRUNO settled toward the rear of the main group early, launched a wide bid entering the far turn to press for the lead approaching the quarter pole, was turned back in upper stretch, but surged again in the final furlong to wear down FORREST CITY in the closing strides. FORREST CITY broke best to secure the inside on the clubhouse turn, yielded to stalk SPRING DECISION down the backstretch, re-engaged to put a head in front past the half-mile pole, turned back a challenge from BRUNO near the quarter pole to open up, but was caught in the final yards. PEA RIDGE was unhurried near the back of the main field through the opening half-mile, saved ground on the far turn, angled out to launch a bid at the three-furlong pole, and finished up well through the lane to secure the show spot. SPRING DECISION hustled early, stalked and pressed past FORREST CITY to clear entering the backstretch, was headed past the half-mile pole, weakened between horses into the lane, and faded to fourth in the final furlong. MUGATU was outpaced early as the distant trailer, failed to threaten with a rally, but passed a tiring rival late. OBJECTION brushed with rivals on both sides at the start, chased three wide on the clubhouse turn, tracked from mid-pack, faltered badly near the three-furlong pole while failing to handle the sloppy track, was allowed to gallop out under a protective hold through the stretch, and was walked off post-race.
