Chart notes

JIM'S HOPE was brushed by the outside foe on the break, had the rail sitting near the rear for the first half of this two turn event, started to come with a run when asked for more at the three eighths pole, angled out gathering more speed at the quarter marker, was full of run in the five path midway down the lane and charged on home outside driving clear while still staying on the wrong lead in deep stretch for the late running win. AMERICAN DECISION tracked the pacesetter two wide on the initial bend, had the rail keeping a close eye on the front two rivals down the backstretch, was ridden for more on the fence at the three eighths pole gradually making up ground through the far turn, skimmed the fence in the hunt at the top of the stretch, shifted out to the two path off the leader with a furlong to go and surged for more in the final sixteenth of a mile but could not match strides with the overpowering winner outside in the late going. MAD DOG N JOE moved over getting to the rail easily loose up top in the early going, travelled well on the front end with little pressure applied by the closest pursuer down the backside, rolled along unopposed on the final bend, had the two path in control at the top of the lane, was asking for the wire on the fence with outside runners bearing down late but could find enough in deep stretch and faded inside two other rivals taking home only the show award in the end. SWAN LAKE had to go the overland route four wide close to the back end on the first turn, advanced three deep entering the backstretch to be on the outside watching the front two runners by the half, ranged closer three wide well in hand around the far turn at the quarter pole, loomed menacingly in the three path at the top of the stretch but could not find more in the late going and idled between runners at the sixteenth pole taking home only a minor award in the end. CAPTIVATING NAME was unhurried at the rear in the early stages, started to make a strong move four wide circling horses outside on the final bend at the five sixteenths pole, shifted out the six path for the drive to the wire but could not sustain the run and stalled outside foes in the last furlong. NINJA STAR tracked the lone speed pacesetter three wide outside two others on the first turn, chased the leader outside down the backstretch, was urged on for more under a vigorous ride but the frontrunner was getting away at the five sixteenths pole and had little left in the three path being engulfed by runners on both sides at the top of the stretch. THREE SONNY SIDEUP broke inwards on the start, was in tight between runners in midfield on the first bend, got shuffled back a touch in the running down the backstretch, had the fence being relegated to last at the five sixteenths pole and hugged the rail taking the corner passing a couple of tiring foes in the stretch run. SUNRISE DRIVE had the rail position part of the tracking trio around the first turn, dropped back inside runners through the backside, was driven on for more two wide on the far turn but was being passed on either side coming to the quarter pole and had little left to offer in the three path in the stretch drive. VOLCANIC travelled three wide between horses near the rear, made no progression three deep down the back straightaway, continued the three wide journey on the final bend but was going in the wrong direction at the quarter mile marker and emptied out widest in the seven path in upper stretch.
