Chart notes
KOTYLOS sped away from the gate to take command, opened a clear lead in the first eighth, widened the advantage through the turn and was unchallenged in the stretch as much best. NIGHT RIDE unhurried for the run down the backstretch racing near the rear of the field, was urged midway on the turn to commence an extended bid, rallied seven wide turning for home and finished well as second best. SUMMERFEST reserved off the pace well in hand to midway on the turn, was set to an early drive nearing the quarter pole, worked through traffic in upper stretch and surged late along the inside to be up for the place. THE SINNER IS YOU tracked the leader from four wide to be well placed at the top of the lane and rallied mildly in the lane. BEACH HOLIDAY stumbled badly going to his knees leaving the gate causing the rider to lose the irons, rider picked up irons quickly to recover, raced as the distant trailer to midway on the turn and came home with good interest circling the field with a late gain in a valiant effort. VALENTINE BUG rated in mid-pack racing four wide, rallied while fanned six wide turning for home and flattened out in the final eighth. MEANT TO BE LUCKY tracked the leaders from the inside through the turn and lacked a closing response. REBEL EMPIRE rushed up the inside to chase the loose pacesetter from the front of the pace to mid-stretch and gave way in the final furlong.
