Chart notes

DEL RAYO stalked the pace through the first turn, was hard held off heels turning onto the backstretch while racing on the inside, settled down the backside comfortably off the leaders, rallied turning for home to take the lead in mid-stretch pulling clear and held the closer safe late in the drive. GOOSE HUNTER unhurried to be the trailer to midway on the turn, rallied circling seven wide at the head of the stretch and finished well with a belated bid to be second best. PERSISTEN tracked the leaders from four wide to the five-sixteenths pole, rallied mildly to close the gap nearing the quarter pole and flattened out in the stretch going evenly. HOLD YOUR APPLAUSE took command from the gate to be clear on the lead through the first turn, was engaged down the backside to duel for the lead from the half mile pole to mid-stretch and weakened in the final furlong showing the signs of the lengthy battle. RETEKO raced up three wide turning on to the backstretch to vie for the lead, challenged at the half and battled on the front end to the eighth pole and gave way fading to the rear.
