Chart notes
PENICILLIUM contested the pace from along the rail, shook free from KODIAK RON at the head of the stretch and drew clear. DUE COARSE was four wide into the opening turn, chased five wide through the backstretch and rallied steadily to earn second place. KODIAK RON vied between foes for the early lead, was unable to sustain the pace needed to move on with PENICILLIUM and was worn down for second. SURGING SKY saved ground along the rail, and lodged a mild bid. REDNECK REBEL broke slowly and inward, leaving the gate, was gapped and passed a tiring foe late. FINAL OUT was four to five wide early, attended the pace and had nothing left in reserve. MARCADO'S BOY offered little.
