Chart notes
SMART PHILLY tracked the early pace from the outside, roused from the four path nearing the quarter marker, responded into the lane then vied for the lead at the furlong marker, took command in the final sixteenth and edged clear late to prove best. ZEPHYR'S JEWEL came out at the start and crowded outer rivals, sent away from the gate and vied for the early lead, took command then was pressed from the inside by TIZ HER LAW heading into the turn, showed the way to the quarter marker while off of the rail, met the bid of SMART PHILLY nearing the furlong grounds, grudgingly yielded to the winner in deep stretch but was a clear second. TWISTED PINE vied for the early lead outside of ZEPHYR'S JEWEL, chased the pace from the three path nearing the quarter marker, couldn't keep pace with the top pair into the stretch, stayed on late to be a clear third. IVEY MY LOVE was crowded at the start then bothered an inner foe leaving the gate, sat just off of the early leaders, steadied and caught in tight at the three-eighths marker, angled off of the rail and chased from the two to three path to upper stretch, lacked the needed response to the final sixteenth and weakened. TIZ HER LAW lunged then was jostled at the start and was last away from the gate, rushed up along the rail in the early stages and pressed the pace into the turn, couldn't keep pace to upper stretch and gave way in the drive. LOVE IN THE HILLS forwardly placed leaving the start then took back, trailed into the turn and did not factor in the stretch drive.
