Chart notes
FAUSTO tracked from inside, drew closer in hand on the backstretch, tipped two wide midway around the far turn, drew alongside MIGHTY TORO in upper stretch, dueled into the last sixteenth and wore that rival down for the score. MIGHTY TORO fought outside CORKSCREW ANDY into the first turn, cleared and moved inside, controlled the pace up the backstretch, roused nearing the quarter pole, challenged by FAUSTO in upper stretch, resisted in the furlong ground but yielded grudgingly to the winner. CORKSCREW ANDY hustled from the gate, showed speed inside MIGHTY TORO then took a stalking position, chased two to three wide around the second bend, weakened in the drive but was able to edge BLACK PEARL for third. BLACK PEARL steered to the inside at the back, moved closer in the middle stages, asked left handed still on the fence around the second bend and got edged for third. MARION MAGIC keen to go on shortly early then tracked in hand from the two path, raced up close three deep into the far turn, got moved out to the four path briefly midway around that bend, chased three wide turning for home and faded.
