Chart notes
SAILOR'S PASSION settled five wide between runners near the rear, made no movement outside foes in the running down the backstretch, started to rally four wide circling challengers midway on the final bend, loomed in the six path outside the embattled quartet in upper stretch and wore down runners one by one in the final furlong to edge clear for the late running win when crossing the finish line. CLIVE CROSS hounded the pacesetter outside throughout, was roused at the quarter being scrubbed on but could not keep up to the leader who was slipping away,, shifted to the three path finding something in reserve coming back on again at the top of the stretch between horses, battled between runners with a furlong to go, could not quicken with winners late surge outside in deep stretch but relentlessly fought back to get the runners up share by a nod at the wire. FAST AND READY settled three wide close to the tail end in the beginning, made little progression down the backstretch, began to inch up three wide between foes around the last oval at the quarter marker, shifted in slightly to the two path for the stretch run and had good late energy splitting runners late to get the nod for the show award at the wire. MY BOY BRUCE had the inside position in the second flight stalking the dueling pair in the early stages, got shuffled back slightly at the three eighths pole, crept closer being coaxed for run at the quarter pole, had the two path in the heat of battle between foes up top at the furlong marker but was outkicked by rivals in the final sixteenth just losing a tight photo for the show award at the wire. CAN'T JUMP had a narrow advantage inside going two wide on the first bend, maintained a slim lead with an even but contested last e down the back straightaway, opened up appearing to put away the early speed rival at the quarter pole, had the fence holding on up top in upper stretch but offered no resistance inside surrendering the lead by the eighth pole and faded further in deep stretch. SPACE LAUNCH was allowed to find his stride seeing the field in the early stages, started to pick up runners four wide at the five sixteenths pole, angled to the five path turning for home passing some others foes through the drive but could not get into contention in the final furlong. FINAL RUN FOR LOVE was widest being floated in the six path heading into the initial bend, advanced outside runners at the three quarter marker to be four deep down the backside sitting outside just off the front twosome with a half mile to run, moved in when spurred on making a brief bid up top three wide outside the lead duo at the seven sixteenths pole, gave futile chase three wide throughput the last turn, had the four path still fighting for a small share at the top of the lane but had nothing left for the late running and folded in the last eighth of a mile. BLONDINA'S BOY had the inside position sitting in mid-pack, pulled at the rider when under a hard hold in the two path keeping a close eye on the engaged duo midway down the backside, came under a drive but was going the wrong way midway through the final bend and faltered just off the fence in upper stretch. BOURBONONAHOLIDAY travelled three wide keeping a close eye on the contested duo on the first turn, took even closer order improving between horses in the three path tracking the lead pair at the half, continued to go three wide on the second bend but giving way dropping out between foes three wide while being checked at the five sixteenths pole and had nothing left to offer stopping in upper stretch galloping in through the lane.
