Chart notes
FAIR AND SQUARE reared at the start then moved up and assumed command on the lead before opening up on the final turn and drew away to win easily. GENERAL MATHIS got squeezed at the start and chased the early pace then loomed to contend at the 1/2 pole but was no match for the winner while able to hold on for place. OBI KENOBI stalked the early pace then dropped back onto the backstretch run before racing five wide at the 3/8 pole and made a mild rally late to hold on for show. PRIVATE MOMENT was allowed to settle early then was urged along the rail and made a mild bid into the turn but just raced evenly late. SILENCE was void of early speed and well back off the pace then angled four wide into the stretch and gained belatedly. LEAVETHENINETYNINE rated in the second flight early with a five wide trip and contended to the half pole before fading. TANTRUM settled along the inside and flashed brief foot for the opening half mile but came up empty. THE RACE WAS HAND TIMED.
