Chart notes

JULIET ON APPROACH was bumped at the start, steadied off heels outside the five-eighths pole, settled towards the back, saved ground on the turn, moved out twice in the stretch, closed strongly to get the lead inside the sixteenth-pole then went clear under good handling to prevail. CLAP BACK lunged at the start and was off slow, spotted the front a few lengths, settled towards the rear, moved from the three path to the four path early on the turn, came into the stretch in the seven path and finished with good energy to get the show. GOLDEN BEACH bumped with rivals early, was well placed just off the pace, rounded the turn in the two path, moved out while put to a drive in upper stretch, chased willingly to the finish and just missed the place while narrowly able to get the show. LESLIE'S STAR went to the front then showed the way, traveled around the turn in the two path, was asked for her best in upper stretch, lost the advantage in upper stretch and was outfinished then lost the trifecta. FIVE DOZEN ROSES tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid in the three path on the turn, took the lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, led into the final furlong but was overtaken and missed the superfecta. MEADOWLARK DRIVE broke a half-step slow then was taken up, raced inside for most of the turn then shifted to the two path, came out to the seven path into the stretch and improved position. HEAVEN'S BOLT settled off the pace, went around the turn in the two then three path, was asked outside the five-sixteenths pole, swung out to the five path into the stretch and lacked the needed response. ON A SUMMER DAY was coaxed along off the pace, came under stronger encouragement in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the six path and failed to rally. COCOA MILLS settled on the far outside, went around the turn in the five then four path and failed to respond. BEST NOT MISS bumped with SINEAD early, moved up to contest the pace on the inside of an opponent, vied along the rail on the turn, moved to the two path in upper stretch and tired. SINEAD bumped with rivals on both sides early, saved ground on the turn and came up empty. SCORCH broke out and hit the gate then bumped with an opponent, jostled with GOLDEN BEACH early, was urged along off the pace, raced in the three path on the turn, moved out then back in around the three-sixteenths pole and had nothing left.
