Chart notes
CANDY FACTORY seized control right out of the gate, rolled along opening up well ahead of the group down the backside, continued to motor on up top increasing the advantage at the will in the running around the turn and continued to run up the score cruising on home down the lane for the dominant front-running win. FRANCINE'S HONOUR travelled three deep tracking well behind the loose leader early on, was urged on for more two wide outside another in midturn trying to keep the pacesetter staying in range at midturn, moved to the rail for the stretch run, stayed on the incorrect lead through the drive chasing the winner home but to no avail and just lasted inside from two late closing rivals for the runners up share at the wire. MARIETTA BABE had only one runner beaten along the backstretch, started to make a rally three wide around a couple of runners at the midpoint of the turn, closed in to be in the conversation for a piece of the prize in upper stretch and finished up mildly between horses securing the show money while almost getting up for the place share in the end. MANDALENA lagged at the rear being allowed to find her feet down the backside, started to reach for more ground two wide at the five sixteenths pole, swung out widest in the five-path gathering more momentum and gradually ran on outside rivals down the lane but was on the wrong end of a three-way finish for the secondary share. NEXT OF KIN sat all alone in the middle of the pack down the back straightaway, made little impression running just off the rail throughout the bend and failed to menace in the drive to the finish line. MOLLY'S CORNER had the rail position in the second flight in the early stages, was under a drive inside another midway around the bend trying to keep up but to no avail, skimmed the fence turning for home but had little to give late and yielded to outside foes by the furlong pole. POINT OF FLATTERY had runners on either side chasing the frontrunner who was up top by a good margin down the backside, dropped back steadily even through ridden for more two wide around the oval, lagged behind the group by the quarter pole and was wrapped up in the stretch drive cantering across the wire in the end.
