Chart notes
SULTAN HASSAN showed speed from the far outside while remaining well out in the course, angled in with a half-mile to run, controlled the action with a clear advantage while in the two path on the turn, was asked to pick it up some with three furlongs to run, responded well when asked for his best in upper stretch, drew off under a strong hand-ride into the final furlong then came under a right-handed crop and proved much the best under steady urging. KARSTEN tracked the pace, was asked in the three path on the turn, chased the winner in the stretch and earned the place. BITTER BANKER was rated while prompting the pace, dropped back near the seven-sixteenths pole, saved ground on the turn, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths pole, moved off the rail under a drive in upper stretch and proved no match for the winner then lost the place but held the show. DAISY DOO broke out and bumped with a rival, dropped back then settled near the rear, was asked in the three then four path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path and failed to rally. STORY OF RORY made light contact with RUNCOT at the start, was rated off the pace, drafted in the two path under snug restraint on the turn, was asked at the top of the stretch, steadied behind a foe around the three-sixteenths pole, dropped in for room soon thereafter then altered out around the furlong marker, swapped back to his inside lead at that juncture, went back to the proper lead late and lacked the needed response. LOLIMO was bumped at the start, settled under some restraint, went around the turn in the three then four path and failed to threaten. RUNCOT bumped lightly with STORY OF RORY at the start, dropped back then settled at the rear, was roused in the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the four path and was no factor.
