Chart notes
FINAL DENILE angled in early, tugged on the bit while rated then settled more kindly midway down the backstretch, moved closer around the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground on the far turn, was asked in the two path into the stretch then tipped out a path near the three-sixteenths pole, rallied to get the lead at the furlong marker, shook off two foes in the vicinity of the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under strong urging. OAT COUTOUR made light contact with CRESCENDO'S REIN at the start, angled in early, settled towards the back, moved closer late on the backstretch, saved ground on the far turn, tossed his head slightly while just behind an opponent with three furlongs to run, was hesitantly ridden behind horses in upper stretch, moved out from behind two foes at the furlong marker, pursued the winner to the finish and showed good courage for the place. OHONTE'S OWN bumped with SIR OSCAR at the start, tucked in on the opening half turn, was rated behind horses then removed from cover inside the three-quarter pole, traveled around the far turn in the three path, was roused in the four path into the stretch and finished willingly to get the show. STORMY BIRTHDAY moved in on the opening half turn, shifted outside the leader while under tight restraint entering the backstretch, prompted the pace on the outside, drew even with the leader in the two path on the far turn, took the advantage outside the five-sixteenths pole, was asked near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner at the furlong marker and weakened but just earned the last spot in the superfecta. CRESCENDO'S REIN was corrected with the left-rein at the start, dropped in early, showed the way on the inside with some company to his outside, was asked while inside on the far turn, lost the advantage outside the five-sixteenths pole, battled under a drive into the final furlong and also weakened. SAMMY C NOTE moved in early, was rated on the outside in the three path, came under a drive in upper stretch and lacked the needed kick. SIR OSCAR bumped with foes at the start, moved in early, settled outside but with cover, moved from the two path to the four path on the far turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, came into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed response.
