Chart notes
RIDEAU FALLS pressed the early pace on the outside, vied between horses at the five eighths pole, continued to apply pressure outside hounding the frontrunner around the turn, still battled outside at the top of the lane with neither one giving way up front and with the rider electing to put away the crop in the final sixteenth opting for only a vigorous hand ride in the late running timed the final surge pushing right at the exact moment getting full extension at the wire stretching the neck out winning the nod for first place. DANISH COOKIE was away alertly having a slim lead up front down the backstretch, continued to dictate terms having a narrow advantage on the rail around the oval, slugged it out having the fence never giving way through the stretch drive but just missed in the duel for the win losing by a hard fought bob at the finish line. CALL ME MISSLUCKY had the rail near the tail end, offered little movement two wide in the early part of the turn running, began to reach for more ground passing outside foes at the quarter marker, skimmed the fence turning for home and closed in late to be a non threatening third at the wire. THAT'S A FACT had the inside position sitting in mid-division, picked up the bit smartly going after the contesting twosome at the quarter pole, shifted to the three path chasing the lead pair in upper stretch but could not sustain the run and idled slightly in the final furlong getting nabbed by the inside rival late for the show money. BERMUDA BREW was situated outside runners close to the back end, ranged up three to for wide around the turn by the quarter pole, swung out widest in the six path at the top of the lane and ran on gradually coming on outside through the drive but could not get into contention in deep stretch. FLIGHTMARE broke outwards on the start, settled on the outside of challengers in midfield along the back straight, edged up two wide between foes at the quarter pole, angled to the five path fighting for a chance for a piece of the prize in upper stretch but had little left in the late going and faded in the final furlong. ARYA'S RIDE hopped up then was bumped by the inside rival to trail the field down the backside, could not get anything going still lagging behind runners throughout the turn, shifted to the five path for the drive to the wire and passed an inside weary straggler by the furlong pole. MAXIMUM REACTION tracked the front pair outside initially, moved in part of the conversation outside three deep by the five eighths marker, travelled three wide but could not keep up in the mix up top by midturn, was engulfed by runners on either side backing away at the quarter pole and emptied out in the three path by upper stretch.
