Chart notes

APELDOORN jumped forward on the break but never missed a beat quickly moving between rivals having the lead in the two path around the first of two turns, slackened the pace up top down the backside, had a dwindling advantage at the quarter pole with a trio of outside rivals bearing down, shifted to the two path clinging on up front at the top of the lane and stubbornly kept finding more when asked to prevail inside in a photo for the gutsy on the lead victory. AGILE DANCER settled close to the back in the early going, made no progression outside challengers down the back straightaway, had a sharp burst of speed being ridden for more swooping around rivals three to four wide on the last turn, angled to the five path full of momentum at the top of the lane and determinedly kept on closing in outside in the final furlong but just missed getting the game winner when outside surging at the wire. SOL DE VERANO travelled four wide on the outside keeping a close eye on the frontrunner on the first bend, rated kindly content sitting back off the front three runners down the backstretch, was forced to move in three wide between horses rallying in tandem with the outside rival at the quarter pole, had the four path posing a threat with runners on both sides taking the corner but could not find more late and stalled at the sixteenth pole being all alone crossing the finish line for the third place share. CLIVE CROSS pressed the issue on the rail under the wire for the first time, took back tracking the frontrunner on the fence through the initial bend and along the backside, was under a drive on the rail just behind the contesting quartet at the quarter pole, scraped paint turning for home and finished up evenly inside rivals to be a fringe player in the end. TIMES A BREEZE was unhurried at the back of the pack for the first part of this two turn event, made little headway two wide around the last turn but did pass an inside weary foe at the quarter pole and had some interest in the late going catching another tired runner in the final furlong. STARSHIP SERENITY tracked the pacesetter three wide between horses on the first turn, chased the leader outside down the back straight, moved in outside getting on even terms with the eventual winner with a quarter mile from home, angled to the three path still very much in the mix between foes in upper stretch but had little to offer late and wilted by the furlong marker. AUDAX MINOR had a couple of runners beaten in the early stages, was nudged along for more by the three eighths pole travelling on the fence but going in the wrong direction to be last inside by the quarter pole and could not factor in the stretch running.
