Chart notes
JUNIPERO SERRA unhurriedly brought up the rear, switched out off the inside heading up the backstretch, continued wide on the far turn, was asked at the five-sixteenths, came into upper stretch six wide, struck the at that juncture, drew clear then held under steady urging. FABER tracked from inside foes in the second flight on or just off the rail, was encouraged by the half, came out three wide turning for home, kept on late chasing the winner home from the inside but was second best. SIDE STREET was outside the second flight stalking mostly three to four wide, was ridden along past the three-eighths, ran on and was best of the rest. EYES ON THE KING quickly moved clear to set the pace from off the rail, was asked turning for home, weakened when headed. COBURG was well-placed off and outside the pacesetter stalking three to four deep, weakened in the stretch. WATSONVILLE RED stalked from between runners in the second flight, dropped back a bit passing the three-eighths, came out five wide for the drive, failed to rally.
