Chart notes
SULTANA had runners on either side in the back trio in the beginning, shifted outside having only one runner beaten in the running down the backside, made a sharp move swooping four wide around horses at the five sixteenths pole, remained in the four path looming boldly taking the corner, kept grinding away in upper stretch, started to find more with the rider switching to a steady left handed crop in the final furlong and doogedly wore down the game frontrunner in the final seventy yards for the hard fought win. FORTYFIVESEVENTY was forwardly placed on the rail keeping tabs on the front pair early on, travelled in the second flight under a snug hold at the half inside another, saved all the ground on the far turn but was shuffled back to a joint last inside two others at the quarter pole, angled out bullying her way through forcing a seam in the five path at the top of the lane, rallied moving inside to the three path with a furlong to go to be in the heat of battle between the leaders at the seventy yard pole, could not get to the winner in time but surged right at the wire getting the nose down winning the runners up award. LUPA (IRE) broke inwards on the start, was headstrong loose up top setting a brisk beginning pace, was finally reined in by the rider settling into strdie down the backside slowing the tempo down stacking up the field at the seven sixteenths pole, remained in control on the rail being nudged along up top through the far turn, had the rail having outside company at the top of the stretch, dug in finding more slipping away again at the furlong pole, began to weaken at the sixteenth pole unable to fend off the relentless winner outside in deep stretch and faded late getting nabbed for the secondary prize right at the wire. HURRICANE CLAIR was away alertly but opted to let the frontrunner go ahead being taken back hard held when crossing the finish line for the first time, started to relax watching the loose leader down the backside closing the gap at the half, was urged on two wide on the far turn making no gain on the pacesetter with the group getting clustered at the three eighths pole, skimmed the fence at the top of the stretch and ran on mildly to settle on the fringes in the end. DIXIE LAW had the rail sitting in midfield on the initial bend, improved outside down the backstretch keeping a close eye on the front two challengers by the half, travelled three wide chasing in the chasing pack but was being passed by the eventual winner at the quarter pole, remained in the three path straightening out for the drive but wilted in the final furlong. SCAT GIRL hopped slightly at the break, had the fence near the rear in the early stages, shifted outside at the half, took closer order when scrubbed on for more two wide between rivals by the quarter pole, was pushed out by the inside runner to be six wide between foes at the top of the stretch and could no factor in the drive to the wire. VENENCIA (FR) was unhurried trailing the field three wide around the first turn, remained at the rear down the backside but narrowed the margin with the pace slowing down by the half, travelled three wide outside foes still in last with the pack bunching up at the five sixteenths pole, was bumped out by inside runners to be widest in the seven path turning for home and could not get involved through the lane.
