Chart notes
MALIBU SPLASH angled in to stalk two deep from the five eighths pole and raced at even terms toward the half, took the advantage approaching the seven sixteenths, came under pressure at the three eighths and contested the edge two deep on the far turn, briefly ceded the lead past the eighth pole but dug in under determined handling to recover in the final yards. BRIGINTINE ISLAND set the pace inside the first turn but was met into the backstretch, gave chase from that point and contested at a close disadvantage nearest the rail on the far turn, recovered the lead past the eighth pole but relented, grudgingly, in the final yards. NAVY SWORD saved ground off the pace the first turn, bid nearing the three eighths pole and raced at the rail on the far turn, angled to the three path leaving the turn and dueled through the stretch for third. SUZYSELLSSEASHELLS steadied early then saved ground the first turn, eased out with a bid into the backstretch, improved in the five path of the far turn then outfinished in the stretch duel for third. BOUNDTOBEBAD rounded the first turn about the three path then eased out into the backstretch, bid leaving the seven sixteenths pole, raced in the five path of the far turn but showed little further. MORALITY CLAUSE raced in the five path the opening turn and settled off the pace entering the backstretch, picked up the chase nearing the three eighths pole then weakened at the rail on the far turn. ANGLE OF ATTACK rated just off the early pace, bid leaving the three eighths pole then weakened in the three path of the far turn. JOY FANTASTIC raced in the six path the first turn and settled just off the pace into the backstretch, gave chase nearing the three eighths pole but weakened into the far turn.
