Chart notes
D TWO showed speed then chased on the outside, made a bid leaving the backstretch, vied in the three path on the turn, took a short lead at the five-sixteenths, responded well when set down in upper stretch, drifted out some under a strong hand ride into the final furlong, was straightened by the rider with some tugs of the left rein and held gamely under a strong hand ride to the wire. MAINTAINANCE MATT bumped lightly with foes on both sides at the start then was squeezed back, angled in at the rear midway down the backstretch then advanced quickly on the inside, moved off the rail outside the three-eighths then shifted three wide, chased four wide into the stretch, drifted out under a left-handed whip while making a bid in the final furlong and just missed while well clear for the place. ICE PEAK showed good speed and set the pace, vied in the two path while inside of a foe on the turn, lost the advantage passing the five-sixteenths, dropped back under a drive in upper stretch and weakened but held the show. MAGI bumped lightly with a foe just after the start, settled off the pace, went three then four wide on the turn, passed the five-sixteenths between horses, came five wide into the stretch then dropped in, came out under a left-handed whip near the furlong marker then was switched to a right-handed whip and came up empty. ALMA DERBY bumped lightly with an opponent at the start, settled on the outside, dropped back some near the half-mile pole, went four wide early on the turn, floated six wide near the five-sixteenths and failed to respond.
