WIDDLE ZEE started the first turn in the two path then shifted four wide, settled towards the front, ranged up three wide on the far turn, took the lead at the five-sixteenths then went clear, lost the advantage under a drive in upper stretch and proved no match for the winner while clear for the place. GREY SLOAN reared at the start and was off slow, spotted the front several lengths, went three to four wide on the turns and was along for the show. YANKEE CLIPPER was rank under vigorous restraint while five then four wide on the first turn, stalked the pace on the outside, drew even near the half-mile pole, vied in the two path on the far turn and faltered. CAJUN STYLE went three then two wide on the first turn, set the pace, lost the lead under urging while inside on the far turn and stopped. JOURDAN RIVER went four wide on the first turn, lagged well behind and trailed.
