Chart notes
NOVGOROD THE GREAT went to the front, set the pace near the inside, moved clear midway down the backstretch, controlled the action through the far turn, responded well when set down in upper stretch and proved much the best under steady urging. ORNERY was taken under a tight hold early, went four wide on the first turn, prompted the pace on the outside, dropped back midway down the backstretch, chased three wide on the far turn, pursued the winner in the stretch and was clearly second best. OLYMPIC CHAMPION saved ground on the first turn, settled under some urging, went four wide on the far turn, came seven wide into the stretch and just got up for the show. OWN THE TOWN bumped with a rival at the start while off a couple lengths slow, went three wide on the first turn, settled at the rear, raced five wide on the far turn, was carried eight wide into the stretch and just missed the show. FED MONEY was taken under a tight hold early, went three wide on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, moved closer midway down the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the two path, was asked for his best in upper stretch and lacked the needed response then just missed the superfecta. DIRECTIONAL bumped with a rival at the start while off a couple lengths slow, went four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, moved closer midway down the backstretch, went three wide on the far turn then came four wide into the stretch and failed to respond. LEROY JENKINS went around the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, moved closer midway down the backstretch, saved ground on the far turn and came up empty. DELIGHTFULLYWICKED went four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, moved closer midway down the backstretch, was urged four wide on the far turn then spun five wide into the stretch and faltered.
