Chart notes
SHOWTIME CAT was hustled to the front past the seven sixteenths pole and set a pressured pace, dueled clear past the five sixteenths, raced near the rail on the turn, drifted a bit into the lane but held on well with steady stretch handling. MORGAN COUNTY pressured the early pace but dropped back past the five sixteenths pole, raced off the rail on the turn, dueled through the stretch for second, but couldn't improve on the winner. DEREK'S BOY steadied early then settled off the pace, bid nearing the quarter pole, improved at the rail rounding the turn then outfinished in the stretch duel for second. FIREBIRD engaged in close early chase, dropped back in the six path rounding the turn, though, recovered lost position in the lane. ROCKET SOUND chased toward the inside, improved his position nearest the rail on the turn but flattened stride the final sixteenth. THE ILLUSIONIST exchanged contact with Banner Man leaving the gate, chased outside and raced in the seven path on the turn.
