MOONLIGHT BLUE settled in the middle of the field, improved position along the second turn, slipped onto the rail for the drive and was clear nearing the eighth pole but was confronted and passed by the winner late, while besting the rest. LINGUA FRANCA was allowed to settle early, was four wide on the second turn outside of rivals, made a late bid in the stretch and got up for third. TERRYS TOM CAT settled toward the back of the field, was four wide on the second turn while still toward the rear, made a bid nearing the eighth pole but did not go on with that run and finished evenly in the stretch. FRIENDLY OUTTHEDOR had no speed early, improved position along the second turn while two wide behind horses, was asked for run into the lane and finished evenly in the drive. THE REF was hustled to set the pace, was two wide on the turn while being pressured on the lead, gave up the lead entering the stretch and tired late.
