MATTAWA N THAT was sent to set the early fractions, rated kindly on the backstretch, saved ground on the second turn, was roused into the stretch run and kicked clear in the end. GOVENOR'S GAMBLE stalked the pace through the second turn, was three wide on the second turn while close up, was asked for run to keep with the winner but was outkicked late, while a clear second. DI LAURIAN settled at the rear of the field, was two wide while toward the rear on the second turn, made a steady advance nearing the three-sixteenths into the stretch, swung widest into the lane but was outfinished by the top two. COMMAND SGT MAJOR chased the pace through the second turn, was four wide on the second turn while still close up, was roused into the stretch but tired in the drive. FINE RED RESERVE settled toward the rear of the field, gained ground along the second turn while four wide but could not go on with that run and finished evenly in the stretch run. RIVER KAI settled in the middle of the field, was outrun on the second turn while saving ground and had no rally in the stretch. UJUSTDON'TGETIT broke inward at the start, tracked the leaders through the backstretch and second turn, lost ground on the second turn while on the rail and weakened in the stretch run.
