Chart notes
PALMY SUNDAE broke back, was outrun for three furlongs, swung out to be five wide turning for home, set down, closed with good resolve to be up at the wire. LENAPE DRIVE behind the leader, went after that one from off the inside turning for home, collared that rival inside the furlong grounds, led late, caught final strides. I RATE FIRST broke sharp, quickly opened up a daylight advantage, continued to hold a clear advantage into the stretch, responded when the runner up challenged with less than a furlong remaining inside that rival, weakened late in also failing to contain the winner. MAINTAINANCE MATT turned head just as the gate was sprung to soundly take a blow to the mouth, broke flat footed and spotted the field several lengths as a result, got on stride while continuing to trail into the turn, displayed some late interest to be closing the gap at the wire on the top three, returned bleeding from the mouth as a result of the incident at the gate. STORMATION raced in the second flight while off the inside, had little left for the drive. BLACK JUSTICE chased the early leader from the inside for the run up the backstretch, began to beat a steady retreat before three furlongs.
