POPULIST was forwardly placed behind the leader in early stages, tracked rival into the turn then launched a two wide bid at the five-sixteenths pole, cleared on top turning for home then stayed sharp under steady pressure. DREAM HALO settled through the opening quarter then picked up the pace three wide around the turn, sustained a steady four wide bid through the lane and finished clearly second best. MAIL MAN JOHNNY sped to the lead and angled inside, came under attack from POPULIST around the turn, could no kick on with winner heading into the lane then steadily weakened. ARCTIC ROSE hustled along the inside around the turn but failed to move on. BRAVURA CREEK was not too far back in early stages, was ridden along two wide around the turn and had no response.
