Chart notes
ENOS SLAUGHTER sat just off of the early pace, was five wide on the turn while gaining ground, confronted and passed the runner-up inside of the furlong marker and kicked clear in the end. COUNTING CARDS set the pace through the turn while three wide, was confronted by the winner inside of the eighth pole and was outfinished while an easy second over the rest. BARBIERE had no speed early, was two wide on the turn and passed tiring foes in the stretch for third. HAWK HILL settled toward the rear of the field, was six wide on the turn and lacked a rally in the stretch run. ALIBI FOR MISCHIEF stalked the pace through the turn while saving ground and gave way in the stretch drive. WINK AND A DREAM prompted the pace by COUNTING CARDS into the turn while four wide and faded in the stretch run.
