MARAIS forced the pace, was hustled two-wide on the turn, dove inward to take advantage of a narrow hole in the final furlong, moved to the rail and drove to the lead and was up under a drive. SHUDDACUDDAWUDDA broke outward and was steadied, stalked angling from the rail to three-wide on the turn, chased into the stretch and finished gamely. HEKLA'S AURA broke inward and bumped FRAC TALES, pressed the pace, took the lead upper stretch but was passed late. JOKERS RUN stalked early the settled in mid pack, was steadied in the final furlong, when MARAIS put her in a tight spot then evened out. BELLA LALOU raced in mid pack, was hustled three and four-wide on the turn then chased through the stretch. NICE COMPANY settled off the pace, was hustled three then two-wide on the turn, moved to the rail upper stretch but failed to menace. MI TORMENTA had speed, led late backstretch, shook clear early turn, was passed upper stretch, was steadied along the rail in the final furlong and evened out. FRAC TALES, bumped at the start, settled off the pace, came three and four-wide on the turn but lacked a rally. A STEWARDS' INQUIRY REGARDING MARAIS IN THE STRETCH AND A CLAIM OF FOUL BY THE RIDER ON JOKERS RUN AGAINST MARAIS FOR INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH RESULTED IN MARAIS BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED FOURTH.
