Chart notes
GATES OF HEAVEN sat off the pace three deep, came five wide into the stretch, rallied outside NICHIREN while getting floated out in the lane and wore down the runner-up in the final sixteenth. NICHIREN pressed the pace from outside early, took the lead while dueling around the turn, led through the stretch while drifting out, clung to a short lead at the sixteenth pole and could not fend off the winner. AFTERNOON HEAT got bumped from outside at the start, chased in the two path into the turn, swung out entering the stretch and outkicked THE BEAT for the show. THE BEAT went between foes past the half-mile pole, took the turn three to four wide and got outkicked for the show honors. STIR THE POT broke in and bumped rival at the start, set the pace with company to the outside, dueled around the turn and into the stretch, then weakened down the lane.
