Chart notes
WINTER STAR settled off the top two flights in early stages, picked up the pace along the outside late on the turn, was put to a drive four wide at the head of the lane, stayed on with response under firm handling and prevailed in final stride. STEINWAY tracked the top flight through the backstretch, launched a three wide bid midway around the turn, came four wide into the lane, drifted out wide in the final furlong and just missed. ABIGAIL ALDEN vied outside of SNOOZT SUSIE in early stages, shook free near the quarter pole, vied for the lead at the eighth pole then weakened to show. SUGAR ON TOP tracked the top flight, was ridden along three to four wide around the turn, stayed under pressure through the lane and lacked the needed response for impact. SNOOZY SUZY vied inside of ABIGAIL ALDEN through early stages, could not move on with rival past the quarter pole, and tired in the drive. DR. MINISTER raced off the top two flights, saved ground around the turn and failed to move on in the lane. RACE WAS HAND TIMED
