Chart notes
HAGLER moved in while going to the front, was well rated while setting the pace, went around the turn in the two path, was asked outside the quarter-pole, responded well when put to a drive in upper stretch, turned back the challenge of the runner-up in the final furlong and prevailed under strong urging. DOIN'ITTHERIGHTWAY bumped with a rival at the start, climbed while settling on the outside, moved closer with a half-mile to run, ranged up four wide early on the turn, made a bid nearing the five-sixteenths, dropped to the three path late on that bend, came under a drive into upper stretch, drifted out near the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished but kept on well to the wire for the place. FLORIDA GATOR bumped with a rival at the start, settled just off the pace on the inside, drafted along the rail on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch and lacked the needed kick while best of the rest. BOLD LEADER bumped with a rival at the start then dropped back, settled at the rear, dropped back leaving the backstretch, was urged four wide on the turn, moved out in upper stretch and came up empty. SOUTHERN RUNNER broke out and bumped with a foe, tracked the pace on the outside, chased three then two wide on the turn and tired.
