Chart notes
IN THE UNION was unhurried in the early stages, raced just off the inside past the three eighths pole, made a good rail bid in the lane and proved best under strong pressure. AFJAN stalked the early pace, moved up four wide near the quarter pole and could not close in the winner late to finish second best. ROYAL COURT was forwardly placed to lay up close early, raced two to three wide in the stretch run while racing between rivals and kept on to the wire. AZURE SKY was slow in the early going, moved up five wide near the three sixteenths pole and had not enough in the drive. DOMINICAN ICE showed good early speed from the outside to set the pace and weakened the final eighth of a mile. TAP THE GAVEL settled off the pace, raced towards the inside and failed to respond. DOWN TO BIZZNESS was slow early, raced four to five wide into the upper stretch and never threatened. ROBITAILLE failed to sustain a bid. PATAGONIAN EMPIRE raced far back and never threatened.
