Chart notes
TATANKA showed good early speed to set the early pace and held gamely in the stretch run under strong handling. LEVY was allowed to settle early on, moved up along the inside around the far turn through the lane and finished well to be second best. FLEET OF HOOF stalked the early pace, raced two to three wide and kept on to the wire. SEEKING SPLENDOR was allowed to settle early on, moved up five to six wide through the lane and moved up. MANOR BORN stalked the pace, raced four wide near the three sixteenths pole and had no final winning bid. FRENCH MALICE was unhurried early, moved up near the far turn, raced four wide into the upper stretch and had no late rally. DONNELLY settled off the early pace, raced near the inside and had no response. HEMPSTEAD raced four wide near the quarter pole and never threatened. C. F. CONGRESS pressed the early leader down the backstretch and gave way. WIN IN THE CITY raced five wide around the first turn, settled near the back of the pack, raced five wide near the three sixteenths pole and had no response. LEVEL failed to respond. MAN IN THE MIDDLE raced six wide around the first turn, stalked the pace from the outside, raced five wide through the upper stretch and tired.
