Chart notes
HEATED chased and took over two deep midway on the turn, drifted while drawing clear approaching the head of the lane and was steadily handled to widen. BAHAMIAN GIRL chased, rounded the turn about the three path, dug in to take second toward mid-stretch then flattened late. CHINA CAT was bumped then pinched back at the start, gave chase through the backstretch, raced near the rail on the turn, angled to the outside leaving the turn, came along for third late stretch and was gaining on the runner-up. CAPTAIN SAM exchanged contact with China Cat leaving the gate then briefly continued bearing outward, closed to the lead past the half mile pole, came under pressure at the seven sixteenths, was caught at the rail midway on the turn and weakened into the stretch. LOOKINGFORANEWSPOT chased the early pace outside, ran in the three path of the turn then weakened. SCARLET TANAGER chased the early pace inside, raced near the rail on the turn then weakened.
